The Issaquah Community Network has elected four new members to the board of directors. In addition, the organization has appointed a new student representative to the board. All new members have been elected to serve through June, 2013.
New members are:
Trish Bloor, who currently serves as vice-chair of the Issaquah Arts Commission and is actively involved with organizations serving youth art and drama programs. She resides in the Issaquah Highlands.
Dianne Bugge, who is active with the Issaquah High School and Issaquah Middle School PTAs. She lives in the Cougar Ridge Elementary School area.
Jon Clearwater, who volunteers with the Issaquah Community Center and youth sports organizations. He lives in downtown Issaquah.
Rosemary Fahey, who is a retired college educator who is also an active volunteer with several Issaquah organizations. She lives in downtown Issaquah.
The new student representative is Iman Baghai, a sophomore at Issaquah High School. He is an volunteer with the Issaquah Community Center Youth Advisory Council. He resides west of downtown Issaquah.
Continuing members of the board of directors are Judy Brewer, chair; Nancy Campi, vice-chair; Dennis Wright, secretary, and Issaquah School District administrator; Jeff Michell, treasurer; Laura Quinn, representing King County Department of Health; and Barbara Luniuck-Rikita, representing Friends of Youth.
The Issaquah Community Network continues to welcome applicants for board
positions. Applicants should reside or work within the Issaquah School District boundaries. In the letter, explain why you would be interested in becoming involved with the network, and list other community activities and interests. A resume would be welcome.
The Issaquah Community Network focuses on issues related to healthy youth and strong families, with a special emphasis on youth mental health issues. The board meets four times a year, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Board members may also be asked to assume volunteer tasks in furtherance of the network goals.
