The Issaquah Community Network (ICN), a local organization dedicated to supporting healthy youth, family and community, is seeking applicants for its volunteer board of directors.

In recent years, the state-sponsored network has focused on youth suicide prevention, decreasing depression and risky behaviors among young people, increasing availability of family counseling services, and using data from the Healthy Youth Survey to improve community health efforts.

Applicants should reside or work within the Issaquah School District boundaries.

To apply, send a letter to Barbara de Michele, Executive Director, at 360 NW Dogwood, Box R-101, Issaquah, WA 98027, or by e-mail to issaquahcommunitynetwork@mindspring.com.

In the letter, explain why you would be interested in becoming involved with ICN, and list other community activities and interests. A resume would be welcome. A knowledge or background in human services provision, or working with young people, is desirable but not required.

The deadline for letters of interest is Monday, Nov. 15.

The ICN board meets four times a year, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Board members may also be asked to assume volunteer tasks in furtherance of the network’s goals.

Send questions about board membership or activities to issaquahcommunitynetwork@mindspring.com or call Barbara de Michele at 425-391-0592.
