Issaquah has been included in the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program for the 23rd year in a row, according to a March 26 press release.
Tree City USA cities are required to have a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget at or exceeding $2 per citizen and official observance of Arbor Day.
According to Issaquah officials, 47.7 percent of the city is covered by tree canopy.
