The Issaquah School District will increase the number of instructional hours in grades 6-12 beginning next school year (2014-2015).
The implementation will occurs one year earlier and for more grade levels than mandated by a new state law requiring districts to provide 1,080 instructional hours for students in grades 9-12. Consequently, middle and high schools will release 45 minutes later on Wednesdays. Bell time schedules are available on the Issaquah School District website.
“I would like to thank the Issaquah School Board and the Issaquah Educators Association, our teacher’s union, for working together to move forward with the implementation at this time,” said Supt. Ron Thiele. “It is the right thing to do for our students and in alignment with our district mission and values.”
