Anyone who has driven along Newport Way this week has likely noticed a colorful collage of fish swimming along the fence of Issaquah Valley Elementary School. The project is part of the PTA’s Art Docent program, an all volunteer group that brings art lessons to the classrooms each month and introduces the students to a variety of artistic mediums. The fish fence was the brainchild of Janna White, one of the docents. Using a weather-resistent material (cut-up plastic table cloths), children from all grades stop by during their lunch break to tie a few bows and add their personal touch to the display. Anyone interested in volunteering with the Art Docent program is invited to an open house at the school on Sept. 24th. More information is available at the PTA website.
