King County certified the 2016 general election results on Tuesday, reporting a total voter turnout of 82 percent.
Final election results showed Democrat Mark Mullet reclaimed the 5th District Senate chair with 50.28 percent of the vote, defeating Republican challenger Chad Magendanz by 516 votes.
Republican Jay Rodne won the 5th District House Position 1 race over Democratic challenger Jason Ritchie, claiming a 51.87 percent turnout. Fellow Republican incumbent Paul Graves reclaimed the 5th District House Position 2 seat with 53.68 percent of the vote to defeat Democrat Darcy Burner.
Democrat Roger Goodman reclaimed the 45th District House Position 1 seat, defeating Sammamish Deputy Mayor Ramiro Valderrama with a turnout of 61.78 percent.
It was a clean sweep for the Democrats in the 41st District, with Lisa Wellman defeating Steve Lizow for the 41st District Senate chair. Wellman turned out 51.79 percent of the vote to Litzow’s 48.08 percent.
Fellow Democrats Tana Senn and Judy Clibborn reclaimed their 41st District House seats. Senn turned out 64.43 percent of the vote for the position 1 seat and Clibborn drew a turnout of 61.6 percent for the position 2 chair.
The $54 billion Sound Transit 3 measure to expand light rail, commuter-rail and bus service was approved with a 54.05 percent turnout, receiving 717,116 votes across King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties.
Issaquah’s proposed $50 million traffic improvement bond received 54.08 percent approval, falling short of the required 60 percent voter approval needed to pass.
