The Lake Washington Schools Foundation has endorsed the Lake Washington School District’s Proposition 1 bond measure.
This measure, on the April 22 ballot, would raise $404 million to accommodate projected enrollment growth of 4,000 new students in the next eight years, and relieve currently overcrowded classrooms.
The bond would fund three new elementary schools, one middle school, the modernization and expansion of Juanita High School with the addition of a STEM-focused high school on its campus, and the expansion of Lake Washington High School.
The foundation is a partnership between parents, business and community leaders, and the education community to support schools and students in the district.
