What does it take to get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice and about $200,000. That’s how much money the Liberty High School Choirs need to raise by March 2019.
The Choir Program at Liberty was recently honored with an invitation to accompany Dr. Geoffrey Boers to what many consider is the most honored performance venue in the US – Carnegie Hall in New York City. Boers will be conducting the Northwest’s own Morten Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna” on March 31, 2019, and the Liberty Choirs will be there on stage, singing their hearts out. This is a realized dream 10 years in the making.
Under the direction of Robin Wood, The Liberty Singers, Concert Chorale, and Jazz Choir have won numerous awards, but the singers have ‘won’ so much more than that. They’ve gained a music education, self-confidence, a sense of community, and a dedication to excellence that is rare.
Part of this community is created by the many fundraisers the choirs host, from car washes to cookie sales to textile drives. This year they will embark on a brand new fundraiser, and once again it promises to be a campaign that serves their supportive community as well. If you are looking to replace a bed in your home, now is the time.
The Liberty choirs are excited to announce they will be hosting their 1st ever one-day Mattress Sale Fundraiser on Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. sponsored by the Liberty High Booster Club. For one day only, the Liberty High School commons will be transformed in to a mattress showroom. For additional information about the sale, go to http://bit.ly/Beds4LibertyChoir. Liberty High School is located at 16655 SE 136th St., Renton.
There will be over 30 mattress floor models on display for customers to try. Adjustable power bases, premium pillows, bed frames, and mattress protectors will be available as well. The brands include Simmons Beautyrest, Englander, Beautyrest Black Ice and Wellsville. All beds are available in all sizes, come with factory warranties, and are made to order.
Home delivery and haul away are available. Best of all, the Liberty High School Choirs benefit from every purchase, and the beds are priced much lower than retail stores because of the fundraising company’s unique business model. If you are considering buying a new bed, the Liberty High School Choirs would love you to come check out what they have to offer.
While this is Liberty’s first time hosting this fundraiser, schools around the area have had great success. Custom Fundraising Solutions (CFS) of Seattle has worked with numerous other schools in the greater Seattle area running the Mattress Fundraisers and the results have been impressive. Mount Si Choir has raised over $36,000 in the past four years and Anacortes Choir over $37,000 in the past three years.
Custom Fundraising Solutions is based in Cleveland, Ohio. With over 80 independently owned and operated locations, the company has helped revolutionize fundraising in schools by helping programs earn great sums of money with no risk and a relatively small amount of work for the schools. CFS has raised over $28 Million for school programs with these unique fundraising events. The Liberty Choirs ask you to join them in this new fundraiser as they continue their amazing journey.
