Drivers should mark their calenders now to prepare for increased traffic while crossing Lake Washington come May.
The Washington State Department of Transportation will be replacing cracked steel bridge joints on the Interstate 90 floating bridge in May and July.
From May 4-23, WSDOT will close the I-90 express lanes, and from July 5-28, all westbound mainline lanes will be closed. Traffic will be funneled into two express lanes.
Long backups are expected during the evening and morning commutes.
