A compilation of events according to Issaquah police reports

The following information was compiled from City of Issaquah Police Reports:

A man accidentally locked a bear in his garage May 10 on the 5000 block of 228th Avenue Southeast. He reportedly shut his garage door at night, and in the morning his wife heard thumping. When she went to see what it was, a bear was pawing through the garage. There was a chance the bear could have also crawled through an open window. Washington Fish and Wildlife responded to the incident.

 

A woman called police about a neighbor’s aggressive dogs, who reportedly tried attacking her and her dog through a backyard fence on the 2300 block of Squak Mountain Loop Southwest May 5. The dogs reportedly even damaged her fence. When she called King County Animal Control, they told her to call back again the next day, so she called Issaquah police, who advised her on what they could do.

 

The owner of a tavern in downtown Issaquah called police to ask how he could help “clean the place up.” He said he heard rumors of multiple drug arrests and problems inside and outside the bar May 8. Police gave him information to assist him.

 

A taxi cab driver called police after a drunk rider struggled so hard to pay the driver with her credit card, she gave up and went into the hotel on the 1800 block of 12th Avenue Northwest May 7. She was found in her room, where a friend paid for the cab in cash.

 

A man called police after receiving phone calls at odd hours from an unknown person for about 10 years on Northeast Mulberry Street and 30th Avenue Northeast May 7.

 

There was a report of fraudulent checks causing a $3,940 loss on the 300 block of East Sunset Way May 6.

 

A prowler reported smashed the window out a car to take a golf club and GPS, a $1,400 loss, on the 300 block of Southeast Bush Street May 7.

 

An 18-year-old was arrested for theft, malicious mischief, disorderly conduct and minor in possession of alcohol on the 700 block Northwest Gilman Boulevard May 9.

 

There was a report of a dog bite on the 4200 block of 187th Place Southeast May 8. Issaquah police forwarded the case to King County Animal Control to investigate.

 

There was a report of a drug transaction on the 300 block of Front Street North May 9.

 

Police did an area check for children skateboarding down the street on their tummies on Northeast Kelsey Lane May 9. None were found.

 

A 16-year-old girl was arrested for possessing marijuana on the 700 block of Second Avenue Southeast May 9.

 

A man reportedly was contacted by bounty hunters in search of someone else on the 2100 block of Shy Bear Way Northwest May 8.

 

There was a report of a man seen walking down Talus Drive testing door handles for unlocked cars at about 12:45 a.m., May 8.

 

Someone reported a Honda Accord parked illegally in a handicap spot, but when the officer arrived he could not write a ticket, because it didn’t have a vertical sign marking the spot, which is required by law to make it legal for handicap drivers on the 100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard May 9.

 

A woman called police when she thought a man was putting salt on her suspension to cause it to make noise outside a tavern on the 100 block of East Sunset Way May 8.

 

A 60-year-old woman was arrested for fourth degree assault on the 300 block of Northwest Dogwood Street May 8

 

A 37-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault on the 6100 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast May 6.

 

A 22-year-old Bellevue man was arrested on a warrant for theft May 6.

 

A 31-year-old Issaquah man was arrested for driving drunk on the 400 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard May 6.

 

Police contacted a man who said he was looking for his missing iPod in a drug store parking lot on East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast May 7. Police observed he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and asked him to move along.

 

A woman called police to ask for helping picking up a car that someone else had switched the title on May 7.

 

A window was broken out of a car, a $200 loss, on the 8300 block of Renton-Issaquah Road Southeast May 7.
