Ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties — all things that go bump in the night — can haunt our dreams, and even our music.
Master Chorus Eastside, now in its 25th season, delves into the musical worlds of the mysterious, the otherworldly and sometimes the wacky in Sound Imaginarium: Things That Go Bump in the Night. The performance will be held at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church March 13 at 3 p.m.
The chorus will perform Eric Whitacre’s Cloudburst, complete with bass drum and thunder sheet, David Brunner’s lighthearted Jabberwocky and new work by artistic director Dr. Linda Gingrich, set to the words of the old Scottish prayer that is our theme.
“There is a genuine sense of play that runs through the music in this concert,” Gingrich said in a press release. “We begin and end with lullabies, and everything in between is either a dream or a nightmare! But really, an entertaining nightmare.”
General admission is $20. Tickets for seniors, students and veterans are $15. A family household ticket is $40.
