Police are on the alert for child predators, after a man in his 20s called out to some elementary girls on the playground Monday.

The students were at Issaquah Valley Elementary, when the passenger of a red car rolled down his window and shouted something to the effect of, “Hey, girls, why don’t you come with us?”

The car then turned at the next street and drove away. The girls described him as having shaggy brown hair, according to a school district press release.

Police are asking anyone who sees inappropriate behavior from a car or suspect matching that description to contact Officer Weihe at 425-837-3200.

The district sent out a list of safety tips, reminding kids to not talk to strangers, walk in pairs, stick to well-lit paths and not give out any personal information.
