Issaquah-area residents have two options for free movie entertainment in September.
On Sept. 11 at 8 p.m., Issaquah Parks and Recreation, along with Lunar Flicks, will host an outdoor Movie on the Green showing of “Monsters vs. Aliens” – an animated film by Dreamworks. Barring any inclement weather, the film will be shown on the front lawn of the Issaquah Community Center and concessions will be available for purchase.
Also on tap for the film-loving public is “Kilowatt Ours” by filmmaker Jeff Barrie – an exploration of Barrie’s journey to answer the question, “How can I make a difference?” Viewers will learn about electricity and the problems caused by energy production, including mountain top removal, childhood asthma and global warming.
Presented by the Resource Conservation Office, “Killowatt Ours” is the final sustainability movie of 2010 and will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 at the King County Library Services Center on Newport Way.
