The Mount Si and Little Si trailheads and trails will remain closed through Tuesday, Feb. 28 while crews work to remove the wreckage of the single-engine airplane.

The plan crashed killing three Feb. 15. Mount Si, located in eastern King County near the town of North Bend, is a popular recreation area along the I-90 corridor.

“We know this closure affects a lot of people’s weekend plans, and we appreciate everyone’s patience,” said Doug McClelland, Assistant Region Manager for DNR’s South Puget Sound Region. “For public safety reasons, DNR is keeping the area closed through the weekend to give the contractor and crews from Seattle Mountain Rescue clear access to the site.”
