The Mount Si and Little Si trailheads are scheduled to reopen Friday after a small plane crashed near a trail three weeks ago.
At first the trails were closed for an investigation into the crash, but when weather delayed a helicopter salvage operation, the trails had to remain closed for another two weeks. The Department of Natural Resources expects the plane to be cleared before then, but if it isn’t, the trail will still reopen.
“We know how much the public enjoys visiting the Mount Si area. We appreciate everyone’s patience,” said Doug McClelland from DNR.
