The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other happenings in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until being found guilty in a court of law.
August 12
RUDE DRIVERS: A person called to report that while driving, two teenagers had brake-checked him and cut him off, then flipped him off. The two teenagers went inside the Panera Bread at the intersection of Maple Street Northwest and Northwest Gilman Boulevard. Police arrived at the business and spoke with the teenagers there.
SLITHERING INTRUDER: A man living in the 3600 block of 224th Place SE called at 8:22 p.m. to report that a snake had gotten in his house. Police came to the house and located a snake that was between 12 and 16 inches long. Police grabbed the snake and carried it outside, releasing it in the woods.
August 13
FASHIONABLE FIND:Two Nordstrom debit cards were found at 9:07 a.m. in the bushes in the 600 block of Mount Fury Circle SW. The cards were found to belong to a Trevor Walker, an employee at Nordstrom. Police called the Bellevue Square Nordstrom and confirmed that Walker does work there. The cards were mailed back to the store.
ON DISPLAY: At 8:51 p.m., police were sent to the 1900 block of NE Killian Lane, where a male in his 20s was behaving erratically. The man was naked and appeared to be either drunk or high on narcotics.
August 14
DRINK AND RUN:A heavily intoxicated man had consumed over $30.00 worth of alcohol at a bar in the 1000 block of NE Park Drive, but said he could not pay. He told police he had been at the RAM Restaurant and Brewery in Issaquah earlier that day and lost his debit card there. He also told police he had been kicked out of the RAM.
THE VOICES: Police arrived at 5:30 p.m. at the 19200 block of SE 46th St., where a man was causing a disturbance. The man stated he was by himself. Police asked him who he was fighting with, and he responded that he hears voices and has trouble dealing with it, so he sometimes yells to get it out. The man stated that he is alright and promised to stop yelling outside.
BAD KIDS: A woman in the 18300 block of SE Newport Way called at 6:27 p.m. to report a juvenile problem. Police arrived in the area and found several juveniles, who said that they did not go down the hill. They claimed that the woman who called just does not like them. Police attempted to contact the woman, but she did not answer.
CHI-POT-LE: At 6:29 p.m., police received a report that the occupants of a vehicle in the 800 block of NW Gilman Blvd. were smoking marijuana in the vehicle. Police contacted them and found that they were eating food from Chipotle. Police could not smell any marijuana.
August 16
BAD TEMPER: A caller reported at 3:40 p.m. that another driver had honked at her and yelled at her as she was driving in the 1700 block of Newport Way NW. She said she realized that there was nothing that could be investigated, but she wanted to make police aware of the aggressive actions of some drivers in Issaquah.
August 17
ROCKING AND ROLLING: At 1:26 a.m., a male was reported to be sitting in a rocking chair behind a dumpster in the 1500 block of Newport Way NW. The male had been there for several hours. Police contacted him and he moved along.
POSSIBLE PROSTITUTION: At 10:22 a.m., a woman reported finding some fliers in the 600 block of NW Gilman Blvd. that seemed to be soliciting sex. The woman said that she thought it was weird because prostitution never happens in that area.
GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL: Police received a report at 11:30 p.m. of vehicles racing through Central Park in the 1900 block of NE Park Drive. Police checked the area, but only found a car that was full of people chasing Pokemon.
August 19
BLADE SITTER: Police contacted a man who was sitting on the bus bench at 11:21 a.m. in the 1700 block of Highlands Drive NE. Police noticed a knife on the ground underneath him and moved it away from him. The man moved along.
August 20
EARLY MORNING HORROR FILM: Police were dispatched to a noise complaint in the 400 block of Mount Jupiter Drive SW, where a man was using a chainsaw at 7:12 a.m. Police spoke with him, and he said that he understood it was unreasonable to use a chainsaw at that hour and would not do it again.
August 21
LOVERS’ QUARREL: A woman called at 8:03 p.m. from the 23200 block of SE Black Nugget Rd. and was worried because her husband had left the house after they had had an argument. Police assisted her with locating her vehicle, and her husband later returned home.
