Give back to your community and the environment by participating in the 17th annual National Public Lands Day this Saturday, Sept. 25. Across the country, thousands of volunteers will be restoring and refurbishing national parks, monuments and forests by planting trees, rebuilding trails, removing trash and other restorative activities.
There are more than three dozen chances to participate in Washington state, including opportunities here on the Eastside.
– Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is partnering with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources to help repair damage along Tiger Mountain Trail.
– Mountains to Sound Greenway is also helping remove invasive plants from the Issaquah Creek at Lake Sammamish State Park.
For more opportunities to volunteer on Saturday, visit the National Public Lands Day website.
