As construction continues to install a roundabout at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and Southeast 43rd Way, all lanes of the intersection are currently down to one lane in each direction while the contractor completes road grade improvements.

City engineers say work is currently focused on putting in curbs and truck aprons in the southeast quadrant of the intersection, including the right turn lane from northbound East Lake Sammamish Parkway to Southeast 43rd Way.

This right-turn traffic will still need to merge with the eastbound Southeast 43rd Way, but after the signal, which should improve traffic flow through the intersection.

Officials hope the changes in traffic control after paving will substantially reduce the recent traffic delays.
