A North Bend man pleaded not guilty March 28 to child molestation.
Mynor Stevens Escobar-Mejia, 25 was recently arrested after having been charged with child molestation and rape in November.
He is being held in King County Correctional Facility after he was arrested on March 16. A $100,000 warrant had been out for his arrest.
With Issaquah police as the investigating agency, King County prosecutors allege Escobar-Mejia molested a 7-year-old girl he babysat after offering her ice cream one night.
According to charging documents, on Nov. 6, 2017, Escobar-Mejia allegedly touched the girl’s “private parts” and had her do the same to him. He also laid on top of her and kissed her.
The girl told investigators she felt scared during the assault and, when he was done, he told her it was “their little secret.”
Escobar-Mejia has a criminal history that includes convictions of assault, disorderly conduct, obstruction and driving with a suspended license.
