Students, parents and staff at Cascade Ridge Elementary School last week celebrated, ran and shivered their way through a circus-themed walkathon that raised more than $24,000.

The 2008 Issaquah Community Auction to benefit children will be at 6 p.m. April 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah. The auction is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah and the Issaquah Kiwanis Foundation, and proceeds will benefit local agencies that support the needs of children and families including Eastside Baby Corner, Friends of Youth, Eastside Domestic Violence, the Issaquah Food Bank and Compassion House. Commander Chris Felstad will work his last shift at the Issaquah Police Department today, after many years of service on the streets, in the schools and chasing wildlife. In addition to handling typical police calls and working a beat, Felstad also was a DARE officer and administrator.
