Police arrest man in connection to tanning salon robberies

Everett police arrested a 24-year-old Lake Stevens man Sunday in connection to up to 17 robberies in King and Snohomish counties.

Police had released a surveillance video of the man robbing two adult book stores in Everett and according to press reports the suspect’s mother call police, saying it was her son in the video. He is suspected of robbing local tanning salons and adult stores. The suspect made an appearance in court on Monday and is being held on $750,000 bail.

Police have not yet specified which robberies he was involved in, and whether or not this is the same man who held up the Emerald City Sun Tanning center in Issaquah on July 28.

According to a report by Issaquah Police about the incident, the man displayed a handgun at the tanning salon, demanded cash and ordered the employee to the rear of the business.

The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Also in Issaquah, a man held up Lovers, an adult toy and lingerie store at 5614 E. Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE, in an apparent armed robbery on July 24, but there have been no reports that this has any connection to the other robberies in the area.
