The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 4
DUI: At 5:55 p.m., a man was arrested for driving under the influence outside of the AT&T store in the 600 block of 228th Ave. NE.
Sept. 8
DUI: At 10:33 p.m., a man was stopped for speeding and arrested for driving under the influence in the 22900 block of SE 24th St.
CRIMINAL WARRANT: At 11:23 p.m., a vehicle was stopped for failing to transfer its title within 45 days. The driver had a suspended license as well as a misdemeanor warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and booked into Issaquah Jail.
Sept. 11
STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED: At approximately 12:24 a.m., police arrested a man driving a stolen silver Dodge Magnum at the 76 gas station in the 700 block of 228th Ave. NE. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Auburn. A shotgun was recovered and drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle.
Sept. 13
LICENSE VIOLATION: At 4:30 p.m., a man was arrested during a traffic stop in the 3300 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE for driving without an operator’s license. He was booked into Issaquah Jail.
Sept. 15
PHONE SCAM: A resident in the 3900 block of 229th Place SE reported he had been scammed out of $2,600. The victim had been called Sept. 14 by someone claiming to be his grandson, saying they were jailed in Salem, Oregon and needed $1,479 for bail money and $1,100 to pay traffic fines. The victim later found out his grandson was never in jail.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: At 2:52 p.m., a resident in the 2500 block of 224th Place NE received a notification on his cell phone from a doorbell motion alarm that his front door had been opened. He called his wife, who was home sick, and asked her to check the house. She found a back door open, which she thought was locked. The wife also reported seeing a gold four-door sedan parked in front of her driveway three days prior, with a man standing in front, taking a picture of her house.
Sept. 16
RADIO WAVES: At 6:15 a.m., a female resident at the Boardeaux Condominiums called police to report a neighbor was sending electronic signals that were causing pain to her shoulder.
STRANGE MEATS: At 4:27 p.m., Pine Lake Ale House employees reported seeing a man selling different types of meat out of the trunk of a blue vehicle. Employees said some of the items were possibly dog and chicken, as was told to them from a customer who bought items from the vehicle. Police contacted the Department of Fish and Wildlife to investigate.
DUI: At 10:14 p.m., a woman was arrested in the 3100 block of E. Beaver Lake Drive for driving under the influence after crashing her vehicle into a speed limit sign. She was arrested and booked into Issaquah Jail.
Sept. 17
FORGERY CHECKS: A company contacted a Sammamish resident looking for work through the website Upwork.com. The company sent a check of $2,420 to the resident to pay for home office equipment. Soon after depositing the check, the resident’s bank account was frozen and the bank identified the check as a forgery.
Sept. 20
TWO FOR THE MONEY: At 4:27 p.m., a vehicle was stopped in the 2900 block of 228th Ave. SE for having two different plates. The driver was arrested for not having a valid operator’s license and booked into Issaquah Jail. The driver’s brother showed up on the scene and was driving with a suspended license with a misdemeanor warrant out of Kent. He was booked into Kent Jail and charged for driving with a suspended license.
STOLEN PURSE: At 8:13 p.m., a purse was reported stolen from a locker at the Sammamish Community YMCA at 831 228th Ave. SE.
Sept. 21
SUSPENDED LICENSE: At 8:50 p.m., a driver was arrested during a traffic stop in the 24700 block of SE Issaquah Fall City Road for driving with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
DEATH INVESTIGATION: At 11:37 p.m., a subject in the 4600 block of 225th Ave. SE was found in the garage by family members. First aid and police responded and later determined the subject deceased.
Sept. 22
DUI: At 7:07 a.m., a subject crossed the centerline in the 2800 block of Sahalee Way NE, causing a three-car collision. The subject admitted to using marijuana the night before, with responders believing the subject was still under the influence. The subject was transported to Swedish Hospital.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Just before 7 p.m., a driver was arrested during a traffic stop in the 4900 block of Issaquah Pine Lake Road for driving with a suspended license.
