The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Nov. 2
SUSPICIOUS PERSONS: At 12:38 a.m., a police officer encountered two men wearing hooded sweatshirts and carrying backpacks behind the Safeway located at 630 228th Ave. NE. When approached, the men stated they fell asleep on a transit bus and were looking for a bus to Seattle. A background search showed both men had non-extraditable warrants. One of the men fled on foot, with police unable to locate him. The other man was released and directed to the nearest bus stop.
DUI: At 12:58 p.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle driving into a retention pond located at the corner of Northeast 8th Street and 233rd Avenue Northeast. Witnesses reported the car had previously hit a tree and a curb and nearly struck children at a crosswalk. In speaking with police, the driver slurred his speech. Next to the driver’s seat was an empty bottle of vodka. The driver admitted to drinking. Results from two blood alcohol content breath samples showed levels of .296 and .305. The driver was arrested and transported to King County Jail for booking.
Nov. 5
BURGLARY: At 6:36 p.m., residents in the 24100 block of NE 22nd St. reported their home had been broken into and items had been taken. The front door had been kicked in. There was no suspect information.
CHILD NEGLECT: At 7:08 p.m., a 4-year-old child and an 8-year-old child were found living out of a jeep with their mother and two grandparents at Pine Lake Park. Police found a safe place for the children to stay with family. The case was forwarded to Child Protective Services.
CRIMINAL WARRANT: At 10:24 p.m., a traffic stop at the Klahanie QFC yielded a subject with a criminal warrant, who was arrested.

TRAVEL PLANS ON HOLD: At 2:20 p.m., a subject from the 2000 block of 213th Ave. NE reported a missing passport book containing a Canadian passport, a U.S. green card, credit cards and U.S. currency.
Nov. 8
AUTO THEFT: At 6:40 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 23400 block of SE 21st Court.
NEIGHBOR CAR PROWLS: At 7:30 a.m., police responded to a car prowl in the 24200 block of SE 44th Place. The passenger-side rear window was smashed and a purse was taken from the vehicle. Next door, a neighbor’s vehicle was entered and the garage door opener was taken. The prowler opened the garage and prowled the vehicle inside.
UNLOCKED CAR PROWL: At 11:27 a.m., a resident in the 2100 block of 279th Drive SE reported their unlocked vehicle had been prowled.
Nov. 9
RIP AND RUN: At 5:19 p.m., a theft was reported at Diamond Wireless, located in the 22800 block of SE 8 St. Six to seven juvenile males reportedly entered the store and ripped phones off of the wall before taking off.
Nov. 12
IDENTITY THEFT: At 2:19 p.m., a subject was arrested for a felony warrant. A check and credit card that were believed to be stolen were found in her possession.
MANY, MANY PLANTS: At 3:41 p.m., an unlicensed marijuana grow-op was reported by neighbors in the 21300 block of SE 20th St. A strong odor was coming from the house. The operation had over 900 marijuana plants. A search warrant was obtained and the plants were seized.
