New Year starts with chilly plunge into Lake Sammish
About 100 people welcomed the New Year in Issaquah in a chilly way but participating in the annual South Cove Polar Bear Swim.
The swim offered a prize for the person who stayed in the water the longest. Brad Wallum was took the award. Prizes also were awarded for best costume.
Also getting a good turnout was the South Cove Issaquah Food Bank Run. About 30 people attended and raised $500. South Cove resident Scott Hall organized the event.
