Daphne Robinson, who twice has chaired the Sammamish Arts Commission, is taking a break from the action.
“Daphne was there at the beginning, helping to form the arts commission and becoming one of its key members back in 2003,” City Manager Ben Yazici said. “It’s hard to think of the arts in our city without thinking of Daphne.”
In addition to serving as chair, Robinson is also credited with bringing fiscal order to the commission, successfully authorizing grants worth $40,000 in arts funding and forging productive relationships with the Chamber of Commerce, the Sammamish EX3 Teen Center and the Sammamish Library.
“She really pushed us forward,” Yazici said. “We’re going to miss her.”
