An 18-year-old Sammamish man is being investigated by police as to why he was on the grounds of Eastlake High School with a balaclava, a knife, and a bottle of Hydroxyzine last week.
Police suspect the man may have been involved in a burglary at the Top Foods pharmacy on 170th Ave Northeast in Redmond over a month ago.
According to the report by Sammamish Police, the suspects father called police to tell them he had found several dozen pill bottles stashed in and around his property, and believed his son may have committed the burglary.
On Wednesday, March 17, the 18-year-old was arrested for trespassing at Eastlake High School, the third time he had been detained for trespassing at the school.
There, police searched the man and found the balaclava, pills, and a small pairing knife.
According to the police report, the man told them the pills were for his dog, but later changed his story and said he bought them from his dealer for $20.
Hydroxyzine is a mild tranquilizer, often used by dentistry or to treat general anxiety disorders, as a form of non-barbiturate tranquilizer.
According to Sammamish police, “the suspect is a known user of narcotic anagesics, particularly Oxycontin and heroin.
He was released from custody at the school without charge for trespassing, and is currently under investigation.
