The following information was compiled from city of Sammamish police reports:
Police responded to a call May 27 of a 4-year-old Sammamish boy falling through the screen of a second story window.
When officers arrived at the home in the 20800 block of Southeast 20th Street, an aid crew was already on hand treating the boy, who apparently climbed up on a small table and leaned against a screen.
The boy was crying and moving around. He had what appeared to be minor facial injuries.
Responding medics told officers they were placing a collar around the boy’s neck as a precautionary measure and they did not expect he suffered serious injuries.
BURGLARS MAKE HEFTY THEFT
Police were called to a north Sammamish home May 28 after someone made off with a stainless steel electric stove. The home, in the 2200 block of 244th Avenue Southeast, was listed for sale.
Police noticed tire tracks leading through the front to back yard. It appeared someone used a screwdriver to pry loose locks, before kicking the door open the remainder of the way. The stove was valued at $600.
COCAINE BAGGIES FOUND
A Sammamish woman called police June 1 after finding two baggies of what she thought were drugs between two parked cars in the 20300 block of Southeast 40th Street.
Officers immediately identified the substance as cocaine. The woman said her neighbors are renters and throw frequent parties. Officers disposed of the drugs.
TOO DRUNK TO DRIVE
A 31-year-old Sammamish man was arrested May 24 for refusing to leave his running vehicle after showing signs of heavy intoxication.
Officers were contacted after his girlfriend became upset that he wouldn’t open his car door. His vehicle was parked along Northeast 4th Place with the engine running and the headlights on.
Officers discovered an open bottle of whiskey in the man’s center console on the floor. The girlfriend said the man was an alcoholic and just returned from treatment a week earlier.
MYSTERIOUS BAG ON PORCH
A Sammamish man called police June 1 to report a mysterious backpack near his front porch.
Officers arrived at the home in the 22200 block of Southeast 4th Street to find a bag with no identifying marks on it and only containing clothing items and a toothbrush.
STOLEN COMPUTER
A Sammamish man called police May 26 to report the theft of nearly $1,300 in items from his vehicle.
Thieves allegedly made off with a laptop and two external hard drives. The victim said he was unsure how the thieves got into his vehicle as all doors were locked and there was no damage done to the car.
DUDE, WHO MOVED MY CAR?
A 65-year-old Sammamish woman called police May 29 to report an unknown person entered her vehicle and crashed it into a pole between two parking stalls at her apartment complex.
The woman said her car was fine when she entered the shower, but when she later looked out the window she saw the damage.
She said she had the only key and the door to her apartment was locked. She claimed people have either been stealing her gas or getting into her car to drive around when she sleeps at night.
PARANOID CALLER
Sammamish officers responded to a call May 30 of woman being stalked by unknown people.
The 59-year-old caller claimed she used to work in military intelligence and is 100 percent disabled for “mental reasons.”
She stated that she’s been unable to make phone calls because they drop before they are completed. She also said there is a delay between when she calls someone and they receive the call indicating someone is listening to her calls.
In addition, she said she had been receiving disturbing texts and picture messages, including one with a picture of a gun with words next to it, “why don’t you just kill yourself.” She said she received the text the previous week, but someone deleted it.
ELECTRONICS STOLEN
A Sammamish homeowner called police May 24 to report the theft of a several electronics items valued at $1,400.
Thieves reportedly made off with an iPad, Bose sound dock and a digital camera valued at $800.
Suspects appeared to enter the home in the 400 block of 222th Place Southeast through an open bedroom window.
EARLY FIREWORKS
A Sammamish couple called police May 22 after hearing pops outside their home the previous night. Officers found firework remains inside the mailbox in the 3000 block of 218th Avenue Southeast.
Damage wasn’t significant enough to require replacement of the mailbox, but the callers wanted officers to document the incident.
