The city of Sammamish opted not to appeal a Sept. 14 decision from the Shorelines Hearings Board on the East Lake Sammamish Trail.
The Nov. 3 deadline for the city to appeal the decision came and went nearly two months after the hearings board sided with King County on several disputed conditions regarding the segment of the trail, which runs from Southeast 43rd Way to Southeast 33rd Street.
Primarily, the focus of the disputed conditions was stormwater runoff mitigation for driveways and private properties and the relocation of a stop sign at the intersection of 206th Avenue Southeast and the East Lake Sammamish Trail. The city wanted the county to mitigate water runoff from nearby properties.
Construction crews are expected to stake the proposed centerline of the trail, as well as the trail corridor and the corridor’s boundaries along the South Sammamish segment during November.
