When it comes to public safety, residents in Sammamish can sleep tight knowing that they’re among the safest in the state.

Online security system aggregate Safewise recently compiled a list of the 50 safest cities in Washington state, generated from a combination of independent research and FBI crime data. In that list, Sammamish was ranked second, behind only Connell in Franklin County.

Other area communities making the list include Snoqualmie at ninth, Mercer Island at 11th, Redmond at 22nd, Issaquah at 25th, and Bellevue at 37th.
