Sammamish students recognized in statewide writing contest

Two Sammamish students will be recognized for their writing skills in the Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center's annual contest this weekend.

Two Sammamish students will be recognized for their writing skills in the Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center’s annual contest this weekend.

Seher Sheila Taj, a fifth grader at Cascade Ridge Elementary, won third in the 5/6 grade division and Ehmer Anwar Taj, a freshman at Skyline High School, won an honorable mention for his work.

Students from Sammamish won Writing, Art, and Digital Media Contests in statewide prizes presented by the Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center.

The Holocaust Center hosts an annual, statewide contest entered by more than 800 students in grades 5-12. Winners will be honored at an award ceremony and luncheon Sunday, June 9 at Temple De Hirsch Sinai in Bellevue.
