Sammamish will celebrate Earth Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 20 at the Lower Sammamish Commons.
There will be food, music from the Mighty Tiny Band and several vendors on hand with information about how residents can be more “earth friendly” at their homes as well as several kids’ activities.
Check out the soon to be completed Lower Sammamish Community Garden and plant a seed to take home with you in fun craft project or meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Sammamish Walks Booth and take an “I-Spy” walk along a paved trail.
Vendors include PAWS who will focus on native wildlife and what people can do to help conserve and protect threatened animals and Bats Northwest, which will teach about why bats are essential to the Pacific Northwest.
Other vendors include: Friends of the Issaquah Hatchery; Grey Barn Nursery; Beaver Lake Management District; 3 Degrees from PSE; Washington Native Plant Society and Sammamish Community Wildlife Habitat Project.
