The Washington State Patrol is looking for any witnesses to an Aug. 27 hit and run collision that ejected two people from a motorcycle on Interstate 90 near Issaquah, according to a press release.

The Washington State Patrol is looking for any witnesses to an Aug. 27 hit and run collision that ejected an Auburn couple from their motorcycle on Interstate 90 near Issaquah, according to Trooper Chris Webb.

The male victim, 28, underwent surgery at Harborview Medical Center after suffering a broken wrist, clavicle and ankle.

The woman victim, who turned 27 that day, suffered a broken arm in three places. She was discharged from the hospital, but might have to undergo surgery.

It was her birthday request to go for a ride that night, Webb said in an email.

The victims were traveling westbound in the HOV lane around 9:35 p.m. near State Route 900 (around exit 15) when they were struck, according to a witness, by a maroon, mid-1990s vehicle, possibly a Honda or Toyota.

The suspect struck the motorcycle while passing on the left shoulder of the highway; there should be damage to the right rear door or right rear quarter panel of the vehicle.

The driver sped from the scene and was last seen going westbound on I-90 approaching Bellevue.

State patrol detectives ask anyone with information to contact Detective Brody Ford at brody.ford@wsp.wa.gov or 425-401-7742.
