The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other happenings in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
August 6
NEIGHBORHOOD WARZONE: Police visited the 300 block of Shangri-La Way NW at 1:36 p.m. where, during an “airsoft war” between neighborhood kids, one juvenile forgot the rules of engagement. Police brought the kids and their parents together and advised them of rules and laws.
August 8
WHO IS LURKING IN THE BUSHES: A complainant reported that at 9:05 a.m., males were coming out of the bushes in the 400 block of Mountain Park Blvd. SW. Police arrived at the address and located the males’ vehicle. The males were installing flooring at the location and were coming out of the bushes because that was where the sidewalk for the residence at which they were working was.
IMPATIENT PATIENT: At 11:08 p.m. in the emergency room of Swedish Hospital in the 700 block of NE Blakely Drive, a subject who was with a patient was refusing to leave the ER area. When police asked him to leave, he became agitated. When he did finally walk away, security told him that he was no longer allowed on the hospital’s property.
August 9
ON THE LOOSE: A subject who was recently released from the Issaquah Police Department Jail was behaving strangely at various locations within the city. Police contacted the subject at 2:59 p.m. in the 22800 block of SE Issaquah-Fall City Rd. The subject was given Metro Bus passes and a ride to the SR900 Transit Center where he got on a bus.
ASSAULT REPORT: A victim reported at 3:55 p.m .that during a massage in the 5700 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE, the therapist had placed two fingers inside an orifice. Police contacted Evergreen Healthcare Kirkland Campus and Harborview ER Social Work and are continuing to work with the victim.
SPEEDY GONZALES: After several complaints were made about a subject speeding through neighborhoods, police contacted the subject at 6:40 p.m. The subject denied speeding and said that his vehicle is just really loud. Police responded that people notice what he is doing and he needs to knock it off.
August 10
NO CAMPOUTS HERE: At 1:19 p.m., police responded to a report of a transient encampment near King County District Court in the 5400 block of 220th Ave. SE. The site was occupied by three males and one female. Police advised them to remove the camp and their belongings within 72 hours.
ROCK N’ RAP: Two subjects were found to be vandalizing the rocks in a park in the 2300 block of NE Natalie Way at 8:56 p.m. The subjects had written the number 47 on the rocks. They explained that it symbolizes an inspirational rap artist.
August 11
RED SCARE: A suspicious male was reported to be sneaking around the light control box and the corner of Front Street North and Northeast Gilman Boulevard at 3:29 a.m. Police located the man hiding behind the box. Police asked him what he was doing and he responded that he was covering up a sign because it was about communism.
