Swedish Issaquah was recently identified as a top performing hospital for their dedication to patient experience by the Washington Health Alliance (WHA). Swedish Issaquah received an 81% experience rating and is one of four hospitals to place in the top 10 in quality and patient experience.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the Washington Health Alliance for delivering the highest-quality, best-value health care to all we serve,” Chris Beaudoin, COO of Swedish Issaquah, said in a press release. “It reaffirms our dedication to improving the health of our community by providing access to the highest quality clinical services, delivering compassionate care and doing so in an efficient and cost-effective manner.”
The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey reflects patients’ perception of their hospital experience and is regarded as the best way to know whether the experiences essential to high quality, patient-centered care actually occur. This percentage indicates the 81 percent of respondents would definitely recommend the hospital to family and friends.
Swedish Issaquah received a 1.73 on WHA’s quality score. This number represents rates of death and complications for inpatients, adjusted to account for differences in how sick patients are. Any score greater than 1.00 signals higher than average performance nationwide.
Swedish Issaquah received a 0.92 cost score. The WHA used public federal data to summarize each hospital’s gross charges with a baseline of 1.00 representing the average cost for inpatient treatment statewide, and any score below 1.00 meaning lower than average charges.
