Leah Katherine Ehrenstrom was the first baby of the year born at Swedish/Issaquah, arrived at 2:16 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1. The 7-pound, 14.5-ounce baby girl is the daughter of Katie and Matt Ehrenstrom of Issaquah. The 19.25-inch-long infant was delivered by Dr. Kristen Austin.

Leah is the Ehrenstrom’s third child. She has two sisters, 3-year-old Addyson and 18-month-old Stella. Katie works at Swedish/Issaquah as an ultrasound technician.

In celebration of the occasion, Swedish/Issaquah presented the Ehrenstroms with a congratulatory newborn gift basket.

Since inpatient services opened at Swedish/Issaquah on Nov. 1, more than 50 babies have been born at the new medical center.
