An estimated 500 teenagers turned out for the second annual Sammamish Teen Fest last Friday.
Numbers were slightly down because of rainy weather, but the event was still hailed a success.
“If anything, I would just say the rain made it more memorable,” said City of Sammamish Recreation Coordinator Lynne Handlos.
Along with a skate compeition, there were five performers, including local bands Bo Tree, With Honest Eyes, Ian Lowery, If I Were a Gladiator and Seattle’s Blue Scholars.
“We thought the event was a success,” said Boys & Girls Club teen director Andrew Hise. “I received positive feedback from performers — they all enjoyed the crowd, the sound, the venue, everything.”
