Issaquah’s 3rd annual annual Turkey Trot won’t feature racing bibs, time chips, or prizes. Instead, the 5K community run will raise money to help the less fortunate in the community.

Over the past two years, the event has raised $12,000 for the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank.

A new route this year will begin on 12th Avenue NW in front of Issaquah City Hall building behind Lowe’s.

Races begin at 9 a.m. and people can register online at IssaquahTurkeyTrot.org. Registration is $25 for participants 11 and older; $5 for participants 10 and younger. Those who register by Nov. 11 are guaranteed a T-shirt.

Participants are encouraged to dress in costumes and Thanksgiving accessories.

To encourage the kids to trot, there’s a “Gobble Wobble” card to get marked along the route from volunteers. A prize is given at the finish line.

Those who don’t feel like trotting can volunteer at volunteer@issaquahturkeytrot.org.
