Car prowls: A $1,250 total loss was reported from a stolen pocketbook and clothes that were lifted from a black 2003 Mercedes in the 23800 block of Southeast 59th Street. The same day, $5,765 worth of tools were stolen from a white 2006 Chevrolet Expedition in the 300 block of Northwest Dogwood Street.
Dumpster problem: An unknown person was reported to be dumping their personal trash bags in the caller’s trash cans after the garbage service has already come to pick up in the 1500 block of Hillside Drive Southeast. The caller said this occurred the previous week as well.
April 19
Dancing, not drinking: Officers responded to a report of juveniles drinking at Tibbets Park. The officers contacted several subjects learning to dance. There was no indication of alcohol consumption.
Yelling guy: An officer responded to a report regarding a male subject yelling and moving backand forth in the 100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. The man stated he was just talking to himself, and that he was fine. The man was advised to be careful where he was yelling in public as it frightens people.Later he was reported yelling in the 600 block of North Front Street. He said he would try not to yell near businesses and people.
Threat: A caller in the 900 block of Northwest Fifth Avenue stated that her boyfriend’s 18-year-old daughter, argued with her and stated, “I wanna kill you!” “I wanna kill you!” The officer asked her if she thought the girl might try to kill her and she stated no; that she was fine and only wanted her statement documented.
April 22
He likes flowers: An officer responded to a male subject near Northeast Alder Street and Third Avenue Northeast taking flowers off porches. The officer spotted the subject with a shopping cart full of flowers. When asked where he got them, the suspect turned around and pointed to a tree. He said he would not take flowers anymore.
April 23
Just plain yucky: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Front Street North concerning a white male, 6-feet with short hair, wearing a dirty grey coat and smoking a cigarette, urinating on a wall in the area. The officer was unable to locate anyone matching that description.
April 24
Drug use spotted: Dispatch reported they were watching the cameras at the Newport/900 Park and Ride and saw a white male in a blue sweatshirt, who appeared to be doing drugs in the elevator.
April 29
North Dakota bound: An officer responded to a trespass in progress at an AM/PM store. The reporting party wanted the subject removed from the location. The officer contacted the subject who stated he was just trying to get some money so he could make his way to North Dakota.
April 30
Should know better: An officer contacted the owner of a vehicle who left her dog in the car in the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. She was advised of the dangers of leaving animals in a hot car. She stated that she will not do it again. The same day another dog was reported left in a case, this one in the 1400 block of 11th Avenue Northwest. The officer located the dog owner inside movie theater. She moved car to shaded spot.
Sex in the car: Police were unable to locate a teenage couple having sex in the parking lot of church near Mountain Park Boulevard Southwest and Newport Way. They departed down Mountain Park in a green Honda CRV, with plates beginning with the letter “A.”
May 1
Child in car: Police responded to an infant locked in a car in the 6100 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast. The car was parked in sun and the officer was unable to open the car. Clark’s towing was able to open the car. The child was fine.

April 21
Family disturbance: A Sammamish mother called the police claiming she needed a third party to talk to her 17-year-old daughter. The mother said an argument began and there was a tussle. There were no obvious injuries, but the daughter claimed her mother slapped her across the face and she struck back. The mother and daughter agreed to stay separated for the remainder of the night.
April 22
Death investigation: Sammamish fire and police were called to a home and found a subject who was not breathing and reportedly cold, stiff and blue. He was pronounced dead. His wife said he had been under a physicians care for benign prostate issues, but was otherwise healthy. She said when she returned home at approximately 4 p.m. she found her husband down in the shower with a one-inch laceration on top of his head from what appears to be a fall. A representative from the King County Medical Examiners Office stated that it was most likely a natural death and the head trauma was secondary to the collapse.
April 23
Mental Complaints: Police responded to a Sammamish household where they met with a 16-year-old and his parents who had been fighting. The teen told police he had a knife, but put it down claiming he was only going to kill himself because he was angry and knew it would upset his parents. Later, the teen said he did not want to hurt himself and had never made any plans to. He said he struggles in the classroom and thinks he may had ADHD. The mother stated she is a nurse and is beginning to think her son may have a mental illness. Police said they could clearly smell the odor of intoxicants coming from the mother when speaking to her.
May 1
Garage open: A Sammamish resident returned to his home to find his garage door open. There was no sign of burglary or forced entry, and nothing was missing.
May 3
Home egged: A Sammamish resident woke to find out his home had been egged. He notified the police and cleaned up the mess.
