The following information was compiled from the Sammamish police reports:

A Sammamish jewelry store owner called police in the early hours of Oct. 26 to report a theft of just under $23,000 worth of items.

The owner of the store in the 2800 block of 228th Avenue Southeast said his wife viewed the video and saw a single subject smash the front window of the store with what appeared to be a hammer.

The man wrestled a cabinet off the floor and thew it into the back of a minivan before taking off.

The suspect was wearing a baseball hat sunglasses, a black hoodie, blue jeans, and a bandanna around his neck.

The incident is under investigation.

DRIVE BY EGGING

A Sammamish man called police Oct. 28 to report someone egged the front windshield of his vehicle while he was driving southbound on 205th Place Northeast.

Another northbound vehicle threw the egg causing a star shaped crack in the windshield, about the size of a quarter.

The victim turned around and got the license plate number of the other vehicle and is willing to assist in prosecution.

DEALER BUSTED

A 16-year-old Eastlake High School student was busted around 9 a.m., Oct. 25 when police drove by his vehicle and noticed fogged over windows and movement inside a vehicle.

When police found the boy parked in the 2200 block of Northeast 18th Street, officers noticed an odor of “unburnt” marijuana.

Police then found a digital scale and 13.6 grams of the leafy green substance — approximately $180 street value. The boy later admitted to selling marijuana. When asked how long he has dealt the drug, he said, “I started yesterday.”

THIEVES STRIKE

A project manager of a housing development called Sammamish Police on Oct. 23 to report a theft from a model home.

Thieves nabbed an 8-inch bone-handled knife, a moisture sensor and a flat screen television from the home in the 2400 block of Northeast 8th Place.

The loss was valued at just over $900.

CAUGHT IN ACT

A 30-year-old Sammamish man was caught Oct. 27 smoking marijuana near the Goodwill drop-off behind the Sammamish Safeway.

Concerned neighbors called police when the detected the odor. When police arrived they asked the man to hand him their pipe. The officer then requested the man hand over the fresh marijuana that he could still smell.

After a bit of hesitation the man handed police a bag with a marijuana bud in it.

STOLEN SAWS

A Sammamish man called police Oct. 26 to report someone stole two motorized saws from a shed at his house in the 2200 block of Southeast 1st Street.

Thieves took a compound saw and a chainsaw valued at over a combined $500.
