Tiliacos hopes to complete missing links In Sammamish

Last week Sammamish Planning Commission member Erica Tiliacos announced that she would be joining the race for a seat on the Sammamish City Council.

In an email to The Reporter last week, Tiliacos said that she hopes to be able to help the city grow without losing the attributes that make the city appealing.

Tiliacos was on the first citizen task force for the Town Center, and has been on the Planning Commission for nearly four years, including a stint as chair last year.

“I feel we can grow as a vibrant city while maintaining the quality of life that drew us here,” she said. “Completing missing links in our infrastructure in order to best maximize our investments and efficiency is important. I believe that developing a community center closer to the lower Sammamish Commons will make the lower park more accessible to all. I strongly believe that the public should be involved in the process, and that when it comes to public buildings in the city, the public should be presented several design options to choose from before finalizing a decision.”

Tiliacos has lived in Sammamish for 13 years, and retired from her career as a fashion and textile designer eight years ago.

“I look forward to getting out and meeting more citizens of Sammamish to get a broader sense of what the citizens of Sammamish think is working or not working in the city, and would like to hear what concerns, or suggestions they may have,” she said.
