Washington Trails Association will be back at Evans Creek Preserve in Sammamish beginning at 8:30 a.m. April 1 to help the city establish a trail system on one of its newest park properties. The 179 acre preserve was formerly farmland and the area includes wetlands, open fields and wooded areas.
The association helped build the first phase of the trail system at the park and is returning to build Phase 2 which includes work on the hillside. The new trails will be a primitive, natural surface.
Evans Creek Preserve is located at 4001 224th Ave. N.E., Redmond. Driving directions are: From Sahalee Way Northeast take a right on Highway 202 (Redmond-Fall City Road). Go approximately two miles and take a right on 224th Avenue Northeast/Northeast 34th Street (private road). Go 500 feet and Evans Creek Preserve will be on your right.
