Issaquah police arrested two Issaquah men on Thursday evening for investigation of armed robbery.
According to detectives, a man armed with what appeared to be a handgun entered the store and demanded money from the employee on duty. The employee refused to hand over any cash, and the suspect left the store with another man in a white Toyota 4Runner.
Officers were called to the AMPM Convenience Store in the 1400 block of Northwest Sammamish Road at about 7:26 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16. They later found the vehicle, then took the 19-year-old and 25-year-old suspects into custody after matching the vehicle description and getting confirmation from witnesses, Cmdr. Scott Behrbaum said.
“We have had contacts with these subjects before,” Behrbaum said, noting that they are not suspects in any of the other recent Issaquah robbery cases.
Officers did recover a firearm they believe was used in the incident. Charges are expected to be filed by Monday, he said.
