The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 23
TIRED OF BEING ATTACHED TO THE CAR: Police contacted a driver at the intersection of 17th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Gilman Boulevard at 3:55 p.m. The driver explained that her front wheel fell off and bounced away while she was driving. Police located the tire, which was still intact, in the nearby shrubbery, then placed it in the woman’s backseat as she directed. The vehicle was then towed.
FUELING A CRIME: At 8:23 p.m., police observed a suspicious subject near a parked car in the 1700 block of 17th Ave. NW. The subject was carrying a gas can with a tube coming out of it. Upon approach from police, the subject said, “You got me.” He admitted that he had been planning to siphon gas from the vehicle, as his own car had run out of gas on the way to Fall City. Police were unable to contact the registered owner of the parked car.

LOST RINGS: A woman called police at 4:41 p.m. to report that her wedding band and engagement ring were missing. She was not sure if they had been stolen or just lost. She had last seen the rings on Sept. 20 at the 24-Hour Fitness, located in the 5700 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE.
Sept. 25
PARK AND RACE: At 3 p.m., police spoke to a large group of drivers at the park and ride in the 900 block of NE High St. after receiving complaints of reckless driving. Police told them not to drive “like idiots” through the park and ride because it’s unsafe and residents notice. The group said that they were not racing, but that their cars are just loud.
HAULING CHILDREN: At 6:21 p.m., a U-haul carrying children in its cargo area was reported to be leaving the parking lot of the Value Village in the 5500 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. Police were unable to locate the U-haul.
LITTLE MISCHIEF MAKER: Police received a 911 hangup at 10:01 p.m. from the 300 block of NW Dogwood St. Upon contact with the resident, the man said that his 2-year-old child had been playing with his phone and must have dialed 911 by mistake. There was no problem.
Sept. 27
TRAPPED: Police met with Washington State Patrol at 11:28 p.m. in the 1600 block of 19th Ave. NW, where the WSP had observed two vehicles with lights on inside the locked Rowley property units. Police made contact with several people who said that the gates had locked at 10 p.m., and they were now unable to get out.
Sept. 28
FUN TO STAY AT THE YMCA: Police responded at 9:51 a.m. to a report of a suspicious transient in the 900 block of NE High St. The vagrant had slept and urinated in the laundry room of the YMCA. The subject left the area before police arrived. YMCA staff were asked to call 911 if he showed up again.

GUESS HE DIDN’T LIKE THAT SUGGESTION: A man in the 600 block of Front St. N. called police at 4:16 p.m. to very angrily report that a UPS truck parked in a way that it partially blocked traffic in order to make a delivery. Police recommended that the man call UPS to complain since he was the one who had witnessed the incident. The man was not happy with this suggestion and hung up on police.
DIRTY LAUNDRY ON DISPLAY: A male and female caused a disturbance at 8:13 p.m. by publicly arguing in a parking lot in the 1400 block of 11th Ave. NW. The female walked away and the man left by car.
