UPDATE: Police find missing Providence Point man in north Seattle

Early Friday morning, the Seattle Police Department found an 83-year-old Issaquah man who went missing from his Providence Point home Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: The Seattle Police Department found the elderly Issaquah man safe in north Seattle early Friday morning, according to Issaquah Police Detective Laura Asbell.

Once the Silver Alert was issued Thursday, and the missing man’s vehicle description displayed on variable-message signs along the interstates, local police departments received many calls that helped find the 83-year-old man.

Issaquah police are searching for an 83-year-old man who went missing from his Providence Point home Wednesday morning.

Bryant Merrick, an 83-year-old with Alzheimer’s disease, left his residence at 11 a.m. Sept. 9 and may be driving a blue 2005 Chrysler 300 with Washington license plate ADR1010. He recently moved to Issaquah from Everett and is unfamiliar with the area, police say.

Merrick is white, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 160 pounds. He is bald with white facial hair and brown eyes. He wears glasses.

The Issaquah Police Department asks anyone who sees Merrick or his vehicle to call 911 immediately. Further information can be sought from an on-duty detective supervisor at 425-837-3200.
