Sept. 26

SUCKED AWAY: At 4:19 p.m. vacuum cleaners, valued at $1,048, were reported stolen from an address on the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard.

MY BIKE!: At 4:32 p.m. a bicycle, valued at $250, was stolen from an address on the 300 block of 3rd Place Northwest.

A PRICKLY FIND: At 4:37 p.m. an officer met with a caller at the intersection of Rainier Boulevard North and Northwest Holly Street, where he had found a backpack lying on the train tracks. The caller could not find the name of an owner inside the pack. The officer took the pack back to the police department and searched inside, finding several used an unused needles. It was placed into evidence as found property.

GADGET GRAB: At 5:55 p.m. a wallet, cash, iPad, iPhone and key fob — altogether valued at $940 — were reported stolen from an address on the 1000 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard.

Sept. 27

GAUCHE OR GOUDA?: At 4:22 p.m. a 36-year-old Bellevue woman was arrested for shoplifting cheese from a store on the 1800 block of 10th Avenue Northwest.

STUCK: At 6:07 p.m. an officer contacted a business on the 900 block of Discovery Circle Northeast, where an employee said a person was stuck in an elevator. The fire department was already attending to the scene and did not require assistance.

WELFARE CHECK: At 9:33 p.m. a caller reported a man wearing a white robe and blue sweatshirt on his head jumping in front of cars in the Highlands Park and Ride.

Sept. 28

VEHICLE PROWL: At 9:06 a.m. cash and sunglasses, valued at a total of $105, were reported stolen from a Ford Explorer parked on the 2100 block of Newport Way Northwest.

NOT AS STEADY AS A…: At 11:08 a.m., an officer responded to the 2100 block of Northwest Moraine Place, where a resident had a dispute with visitors who had come to buy furniture. The visitors had damaged a table in her home while they were moving the furniture outside.

STILL LEARNING: At 7:09 p.m. an officer responded to the 1400 block of 11th Avenue Northwest, where a passenger had reported her car had gone into a ditch. She said her sone was practicing driving and hit the gas instead of the brake, causing the car to go over the curb. She said a tow was already en route.

Sept. 29

BUS-LAGGED: At 9:08 a.m. an officer responded to a male lying on the sidewalk near bus stop in the area of Rainier Boulevard South. The man said he was fine, just waiting for the bus.

OUT OF BEER: At 3:45 p.m. an officer contacted a transient male near the 100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. He had been drinking beer, but it was all empty at the time of contact. The man was warned about drinking in public, told to clean his mess up and asked to move along.

CHILL OUT: At 8:48 p.m., a citizen reported a man had threatened to assault another person who had broken up a fight earlier in the evening. The officer contacted the man and told him he shouldn’t do that.

Sept. 30

TRAFFIC HAZARD: At 7:43 a.m. a caller reported he had hit a deer near the 700 block of Front Street South and realized his license plate had fallen off. The officer located the man’s license plate and took it to the police department lobby for later recovery.

NEAR MISS: At 8:04 a.m., a woman reported she was nearly hit by a school bus while crossing Northeast Park Drive. She said she had to pull her dog back so as not to be hit.
