There’s a new deputy in town — at least for 2013.
The Sammamish City Council unanimously voted Ramiro Valderrama the new Deputy Mayor for a one-year term at its Jan. 8 meeting.
Valderrama replaces John James, who filled the role in 2012. He will serve under Mayor Tom Odell, who is in his second year of a two-year term.
“I appreciate John’s support this past year, I think (he’s) done a great job for the council and the city,” Odell said.
Valderrama, who is entering his second year, thanked the other six members for their support.
