A partnership between the Master Builders Care Foundation, Compassion House, and Windermere Real Estate will put a roof over the head of two local families who might otherwise be making a home on the streets this summer.
On the weekend, Compassion House directors Mike Steele and Rick McCarty, joined Dave Paremski and Chuck Metzger of Windermere Real Estate’s Issaquah office added the finishing touches to a specially built duplex on Andrews Street that will provide stable housing for two homeless families.
With the landscaping just about finished, the homes are scheduled for occupancy at the end of July.
More than 45 volunteers from the Issaquah office of Windermere Real Estate landscaped the Andrews House yard for their annual community service day project.
John Day Homes workers donated time, materials, and recruited and coordinated the work of many subcontractors who donated all or part of their time to the project.
Compassion House volunteers will work with the two families to help them sustain themselves in the future.
