The Washington State Patrol seeks more information on the three-car, fatal crash in Enumclaw that sent a Sammamish woman to the hospital Feb. 23.

The crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. when a 26-year-old Enumclaw driver going northbound on State Route 169 attempted to pass a 52-year-old Buckley driver.

The Enumclaw driver, Nathan Menalia, died after losing control of his grey 1994 Mercury Sable and hitting an oncoming Sammamish driver in a 2010 Ford Mustang. The vehicles came to rest blocking north- and southbound traffic. All three drivers were wearing their seat belts.

The Buckley driver was unharmed. The Sammamish driver, Peggy Smith, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, Trooper Chris Webb told the Reporter last week.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Trooper Mike Cheek at mike.cheek@wsp.wa.gov or 360-825-6154.
