The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
July 16
SOMETHING BUGGING YOU: Police located a vehicle at 11:31 p.m. in the roadway at the intersection of Newport Way Northwest and 17th Avenue Northwest. The driver said that he was stopped because he had bugs in his vehicle and needed to get them out. Police advised him to pull safely off the roadway and he complied.
July 17
ANOTHER CALL TO INDIA: Police received a mistake 911 call at 10:51 a.m. from the 1900 block of 14th Court NE. As has happened on previous occasions from multiple callers, the person had been attempting to call India. The country code for India is +91, which may explain the frequent occurrence. Upon arrival at the house of the caller, police were invited in and did not see anything suspicious.
FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT: Police were called to the 2200 block of Northwest Sammamish Road at 8:40 p.m., where a fight had gotten underway at Lake Sammamish State Park. A member of the Raiders Fan Club told police that several parties had gotten disorderly and been asked to leave. The parties were no longer on scene and no injuries were reported.
July 18
CANADIAN CAR CACHE: Police located a suspicious scene at 1:56 p.m. in the 6200 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. A person was trying to exchange Canadian money for US dollars, and was selling items from the back of a car.
PARANOID ABOUT PERVS: A woman reported at 2:06 p.m. that a younger man had said to her, “I like that” as she pushed carts into Trader Joe’s, located in the 900 block of NW Gilman Blvd. She did not know what the man was implying with his statement. Police asked the woman to call 911 if she saw the man and his vehicle again.
DUELING WITH BUSHES: A report was made at 3:33 p.m. of a subject in the 4400 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE with a sheathed machete on her belt. Police found that the woman was working on a project for a subject from the city. She is scoping out the site for the new fire station, and needs the machete to hack through the brush.
July 19
FISH FRIGHT: A report was made at 9:23 a.m. that a male was yelling and frightening people at the salmon hatchery, located in the 100 block of W. Sunset Way. Upon arrival at the scene, police did not observe the man. Police made in-person contact with the complainant, who said that the male had departed.
July 20
AT LEAST THE ADDICT HAS FRESH BREATH: Police found an unused needle and an Altoids tin in the bushes at 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of First Ave. NW. All items were disposed of properly.
July 21
CAMPING IN THE YARD: Police went to a residence in the 600 block of Front St. S. at 11:51 a.m., where a female reported that a male subject had made camp on her property, but had since left with his belongings. She said that she had not seen the man today, but she would call back if he turned up again, and would have him trespassed if necessary.
FREAKED-OUT AT A FILM: A movie-goer at the Issaquah Highlands Regal Cinema, located in the 900 block of NE Park Drive, left cinema #10 at 8:12 p.m. due to safety concerns about two males. The complainant reported that the males were acting suspicious, appeared nervous and were not watching the film. Police entered the theatre with a manager through the back entrance and observed the subjects, but saw no unusual actions.
