Following hours of labor by Sammamish city staff and volunteers, work has completed on the latest phase of the rehabilitation of the Evans Creek Preserve.
A new entrance to the preserve located on Sahalee Way was opened Nov. 3, capping more than six months of work.
“WTA and City Trail Stewards started working on the hillside trails last April,” Kellye Hilde, project volunteer contact with the City of Sammamish, said. “Work is ongoing and will continue into 2015. Construction of the parking lot and trailhead started in July and was completed in August.”
City maintenance crews have also finished installing framed metal wayfaring maps along intersections and scenic outlook points across the trail system.
